Passenger ferry FİLO JET, carrying 267 people, capsized off Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. Erhan Arıklı, Northern Cyprus's minister of public works and transport, said at least one person had been confirmed dead. The ferry was operated by Filo Denizcilik, a company that mainly provides shipping services between Northern Cyprus and Turkey, and was travelling from Kyrenia (Girne/Κερύνεια) in Northern Cyprus to Taşucu in Turkey's Mersin Province when the incident occurred. The cause of the accident remained unclear.
