Airlink passenger jets performed a low-altitude flypast over Cape Town’s DHL Stadium before a rugby match
Before the South Africa “Springboks” v New Zealand “All Blacks” rugby match at Cape Town’s DHL Stadium, two passenger jets operated by South African airline Airlink flew in formation and performed a low-altitude flypast over the stadium. The following day, Airlink responded to “concerns expressed in social media and online forums”, saying that the flight required “careful planning and rehearsal” and that the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) had provided “guidance, approval and support” to ensure a safe flypast.
