加拿大西部發生山火，英屬哥倫比亞宣佈進入緊急狀態。截至九日，有兩萬兩千人撤離，另有九千七百人被吿知準備撤離。據英屬哥倫比亞野火服務處稱，火災蔓延面積逾三十九平方英里（一百零三平方公里）。

At 2:25 pm, Hong Kong Observatory Headquarter at Tsim Sha Tsui recorded a temperature of 36.9°C, the highest temperature record sinse the records started at 1884.At around 3:20 pm, a temperature of 39.8°C was recorded in Sheung Shui, the highest temperature ever recorded in Hong Kong since automatic weather stations were introduced in the 1980s.
