A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new bridge called Gordie Howe, which spans the Detroit River, was held in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on the 24th. The bridge took eight years to build and is estimated to have cost C$6.4 billion. According to reports, Canada withdrew its invitation to US representatives after USA President Donald Trump announced the imposition of a 50 per cent tariff on Canadian goods worth nearly US$20 billion, covering 554 of Harmonised Tariff Schedule of the United States.
